Bhaskar Banerji

Bhaskar Banerji is a globetrotting photographer who has a particular fondness for hard to reach places and dreamy landscapes. He is passionate about bridging the worlds of the waking and the dreaming, exploring the relationship of the emerging modern West with that of the timeless ancient rhythms of the East.

Born in Calcutta, India in the midst of a civil war, he spent his childhood navigating between India, the UK and the US. A two and a half year walking journey across the United States, coast-to-coast on the American Discovery Trail, communing with America’s wildest places infused him with a love for the great outdoors. His images reflect his cultural multiplicity, his sensitivity to the natural world and the challenge of preserving this living heritage for future generations to enjoy and be in awe of.
